African Savannah to Antarctic Ice

This exhilarating itinerary will have you heading from one rarely visited location to another – exploring South Africa’s semi-arid Kalahari Desert before catching a private jet for a one-to-seven-day exploration of Antarctica, with a restorative Cape Town stay in between, immersed in the scenic city’s natural splendor.

During your three-night stay at the ultra-luxurious The Motse, at Tswalu private game reserve in South Africa’s Kalahari Desert, you’ll have many exciting sightings, including cheetahs, aardvark and pangolin, and will get to view unique desert-adapted species of plants and animals. Your stay includes a dinner at Klein JAN, the restaurant of chef Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen, who retains a Michelin star for his restaurant JAN in Nice, France.

Three nights in Cape Town will settle you into an equally tranquil pace, on the mountainside of Table Mountain, where Future Found Sanctuary’s Maison Noir will play host to a stay filled with sensory joy. Be rejuvenated with daily yoga sessions, sun-soaking around the pool, or wandering around the sustainable seven-acre property that leads to hiking trails up the mountain.

Whether choosing a one, five or seven-night stay in Antarctica, you’ll fly in and out on a Gulfstream Private Jet. This unparalleled adventure includes access to an Emperor penguin colony, and will have you scaling a blue-ice glacier to summit a nunatak if you so desire. You’ll stay at White Desert’s flagship luxury camp, Whichaway, in a designer pod surrounded by this brilliant white landscape. Ice caves, quad bikes and 4×4 trails await!

All locations on this tour are malaria-free.

Tswalu operates a daily scheduled charter service direct to the reserve’s own airstrip from both Cape Town International Airport and Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport.

As you can imagine, these trips only operate during the Summer months in the Southern hemisphere and are very limited to 12 guests on each departure from Cape Town. Four types of trips between 1 and 8 days in duration can be booked and are operated between two camps.

Flights are from Cape Town across the Southern Ocean on a Gulfstream Jet to Wolf’s Fang runway in Antarctica and have a duration of 5 hours each way.
