Romantic Interlude

Surround yourself with beauty while blissed out on love – first in the lap of luxury, on the slopes of Table Mountain at Future Found Sanctuary, then at Londolozi in the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve. Finally, a secluded-beach bungalow at Sussurro, on the coast of Vilanculos, will provide the perfect ending to this romantic escape.

Begin your getaway with four nights in Cape Town, considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world. While staying at Future Found Sanctuary’s Villa Verte, with Table Mountain as your backdrop, you’ll experience all the breathtaking sights around this peninsula – from Cape Point to the Constantia Winelands and beyond. The Mother City’s internationally renowned restaurants will provide many an opportunity for romance.

Continue on to Londolozi Tree Camp in the Greater Kruger National Park, where, for four nights, you’ll be nestled in a Leadwood tree canopy, with a bird’s eye view of the leopards that roam around freely in this natural habitat. The elephants that drink from the river below will be a daily highlight. Sunset game drives with picnics and drinks will be followed by dinner on the deck, under the glimmering light of lanterns and stars.

At Mozambique’s Vilanculos Beach, you’ll spend seven nights in total seclusion in one of Sussurro’s six tucked-away bungalows, designed with an eco-conscious approach that integrates the lagoon-side environment into the experience. Enjoy the yoga deck, artisanal fishing trips, stand-up paddle boarding, dhow safaris, weaving workshops, snorkeling, scuba diving and more, and delight in the fresh local produce served at every meal.

All year round is good for the Greater Kruger National Park area although for Mozambqiue, the main rainy season falls over January and February and is a period best avoided. It can be very humid in Greater Kruger Park falls between November and February but even this period, which is known as the “Green Season” is a wonderful time to visit and is also the main birding season where baby animals and migratory species can also be seen. Cape Town’s main rainy season is opposite to the other two destinations and June-Aug is usually the wettest and coldest

Cape Town is malaria-free but both Greater Kruger Park and Mozambique are malaria areas and we advise the use of anti-malarial prophylactics year-round. Consult your travel doctor for advice at least three weeks before departure to Africa.

The Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve is South Africa’s premier wildlife destination and game viewing will be excpetional. The area is synonomous with frequent sightings of the elusive Leopard but is a a “Big 5” area and so all the usual animals such elephant and rhino will be seen too. We mention Leopards as these beautiful animals are usually rarely seem.
